A simple sales funnel for coaches and consultants to sell programs and packages

Many coaches and consultants think they need a complicated funnel with ten pages, three upsells and fifty emails before they can sell online. They don't. A simple funnel with a few well-made pieces will outsell a complicated one that never gets finished.

Here is the simple version: the pages and emails that do most of the work when you sell a coaching program, a consulting package or a group offer.

Step 1: A free resource that attracts the right people

Start with something useful that your ideal client actually wants: a checklist, a short guide, a self-assessment or a short video training. It should solve one small, specific problem and point naturally to your paid offer.

Good examples:

  • A business coach: "The 10-minute weekly planning sheet"

  • A career coach: "5 CV mistakes that get you rejected"

  • An operations consultant: "The process audit checklist for small teams"

Step 2: A simple opt-in page

One page, one goal: get their name and email in exchange for the free resource. Keep it short. A clear headline, three bullet points on what they'll get, and a form. No menus, no distractions.

Step 3: A thank-you page with a next step

Most people waste this page. After someone opts in, they're paying attention. Use the thank-you page to invite them to the next step: book a discovery call, watch a short video about your program, or join a low-cost starter offer.

Step 4: A short email sequence

Five emails over about ten days is enough for most offers:

  1. Day 0: Deliver the resource and say what to expect.

  2. Day 2: Share a quick win or tip related to the resource.

  3. Day 4: Tell a client story: where they started and what changed.

  4. Day 7: Introduce your program or package and who it's for.

  5. Day 10: Answer common objections and give a clear call to action.

Write them once, and they work for every new lead.

Step 5: A sales page or a booking page

Which one depends on your price:

  • Lower-priced programs or courses: a sales page with clear outcomes, what's included, testimonials, FAQs and a checkout.

  • Higher-priced coaching or consulting: send people to a discovery call booking page with a short qualifying form. High-value clients usually want to talk before they commit. (Here's how to turn followers into booked discovery calls automatically.)

Step 6: Easy payment and onboarding

When someone says yes, the next steps should be instant: payment link or checkout, a welcome email, access to your course area or client portal, and a link to book the first session. Every manual step you remove is one less delay.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Building everything before testing. Launch the simple version, then improve the page or email that's underperforming.

  • Too many offers at once. One funnel, one main offer.

  • No follow-up for people who don't buy. Keep them on your list with helpful emails. Many clients buy months later.

  • Tools that don't connect. If your opt-in, emails, checkout and calendar live in different apps, something will break.
